Creating a AR Filter for House of Sunny to generate brand awareness and educating consumers on issues surrounding climate change and sustainability.
2020 was the year of the House of Sunny Hockney Dress, with the dress going viral over social media during the summer, after being seen on celebrities and influencers such as Kendal Jenner. The dress going so viral lead to many fast fashion brands creating cheaper dupes. This questions the sustainability of the garments, although it has been sustainably made at House of Sunny, it is unsure how sustainable the dupes are.
House of Sunny as a brand has the power and influence to make a garment go viral and to be replicated. Therefore they could use their influence to spread awareness about social and environmental issues. The use of a digital asset such as an AR filter, in comparison to a physical asset like a dress or item of clothing means that the brand can create reach to new consumer and create relationships with consumers without creating waste once a item goes out of season, style or to landfill.
An AR filter is a relatively low cost form of marketing that can bring a large amount of engagement and awareness to the brand, reaching beyond the target audience.

With social media continuously developing and new features emerging, this brings new opportunities for brands to connect with their audiences as well as reaching new audiences. Brands, such as House of Sunny that have such a large following of Gen-Z and younger demographics have ability and power to use their platform to share important messages and educate consumers. AR, Augmented Reality, is an interactive experience which allows brands and consumer to connect through a digital platform. Creating a sensory experience that could be visual or auditory, connecting the digital world to the physical world. AR is a relatively low-cost way in which brands can create a way of connecting with consumer that will increase reach, brand awareness and engagement and encourage user generated content.
